Baltic Grey Seal
Location: Skansen, Stockholm
Subject: Marina, 3 years.
Monday morning, I left for Skansen. I usually do - especially during mornings since they are so adoreable during mornings and not really hardened by the stress of all the visitors during the day. Marina in particular was in a funny mood and played around with a new toy.
Somebody had dropped a coin in the basin - despite all the signs telling you not to - and Marina simply had a blast to find it, pick it up and play with it, balancing it on her nose. While Humans can easily spot the coin in the water due to its reflective nature, the Seals use their whiskers in much the same way a Sonar works.
